This individual is responsible for implementing the policies and procedures, as determined by the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee and Championships/Competition Cabinet, which govern the Division I Women's Basketball Championship. Additionally, this position is responsible for serving as a liaison to the institutions/conferences and local organizing committees that serve as host for all sessions of the championship.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor s degree.
- A minimum of five years of athletics administration experience in a leadership role, with a priority in specific experience administering championships, athletic events, with preference given to basketball championship experience at a conference office or at a member institution
- Demonstrated knowledge of committee and meeting management
- Demonstrated strength in athletic event operations
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and presentation skills
- Flexibility to travel (approximately 75 days per year), contact and availability on a continuous basis (after hours, weekends)

duties and responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of the national office s strategic communication strategy
Provide daily media relations support to the Public and Media Relations unit
Assist with daily media calls
Provide public relations writing support, such as press releases, talking points, backgrounders, stories for championships programs and other NCAA collateral material
Perform independent research for senior leaders in PMR as assigned.
Provide general public relations support at key NCAA events, such as the Men s and Women s Final Fours, the NCAA Convention and other events as assigned
Work on proactive external messaging projects and also seek out new platforms for activating and extending key Association priorities and messages.
Use Vocus and other technology to research and develop new media relations opportunities for the national office, including but not limited to Web logs, e-magazines, and alternative print publications and broadcast outlets.
Cultivate relationships with colleagues in the NCAA membership to develop third-party advocates in support of NCAA messaging and overall priorities
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree.
Three to five years of related work experience in public relations, journalism, or communications, particularly in high-interest/low-trust settings at a national level
Strong organizational skills
Proven ability to add an advocacy focus to organizational priorities
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent writing skills and proven ability to produce materials targeted toward specific audiences
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage stakeholders and related expectations
Strong computer skills
Preferred qualifications:
Advanced degree
Knowledge of higher education and intercollegiate athletics

We currently seek an Associate Director of Public and Media Relations at our National Office in Indianapolis, IN. In this role you will be responsible for developing, cultivating and leveraging relationships with broadcast (including television and radio) and internet media. Focusing mainly on broadcast and internet media, this position will manage various outreach efforts of the Association, assist in the Association's issue-oriented media relations, and other public and media relations efforts as defined by the managing director and Director of Public and Media Relations. The staff member will routinely respond to requests from the NCAA membership, media, public and partner with specific groups within the national office to meet their respective communications needs.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Six to eight years of direct experience working in the broadcast industry or exclusively working broadcast issues for a national organization/company
Proven success in program and event driven broadcast media relations
Proven success in the area of issue-oriented media relations
Demonstrated experience working with national broadcast entities in a high-interest low-trust media relations professional environment
Demonstrated written and oral communications
Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Computer proficiency

We currently seek an Assistant Director of Membership Services at our National Office in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for performing work associated with the NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program (AAP). This will encompass processing various academic waivers, providing membership education and working with the APP academic data collection module. In addition, this position will also assist the Association's membership and other relevant entities in understanding NCAA legislation and interpretations applicable to the operation of an institution's athletics program. Additionally, this position may be responsible for participating in a variety of other core membership services functions, including committee and governance support and various special projects (e.g., Compliance Assistant Internet and the Outreach Program for First Time Chancellors and Presidents).
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience transferable to a regulatory environment.
Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Well developed analytical skills.
Basic computer skills with a desire to embrace new technologies.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage various job assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree or advanced professional degree.
Experience in intercollegiate athletics, as a coach, student-athlete or an administrator.
Experience handling confidential and sensitive materials.
Interest in research and analysis of intercollegiate athletics.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules and familiarity with higher education administration.
Working knowledge of Division 1 APP.
Experience on Division I campus involving academic and/or compliance work.
