IT Systems Analysts assist in the
activities required in the support and maintenance of
SunGard s Banner application and the development of
solutions to meet the business requirements of the
College.
Duties include:
(1) Primary analyst supports the Human
Resources/Finance Operation(s) of SunGard s Banner
application; (1) Primary analyst supports the Financial
Aid/Accounts Receivable Operation(s).
Develops, designs, and implements innovative
ways of using the Banner application to suit end users
business needs.
Provides IT support for payroll, budgeting,
purchase requisitions, asset management, accounts
receivable, accounts payable and financial aid.
Functions as the primary liaison between areas
of responsibility and SunGard to resolve business
requirements and application deficiencies.
Analyzes, defines and documents requirements
and manages efforts following standard Project
Management methodologies.
Prepares project status reports to keep
management, clients, and others informed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

PART-TIME STAFF ASSISSANT: Division of
Administration & Finance (Non-Unit Professional
Position) 22.5 - 25 hours per week.
Northern Essex Community College serves more than 8,000
students each year at campuses in Haverhill, Lawrence
and North Andover. The annual budget of the college is
approximately $53 million, with revenues coming from the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, student tuition and fees,
and federal, state and private grants.
NECC has been building an organizational culture that

and programs in order to grow and improve. We are
seeking faculty and staff that are committed to the
community college mission, actively engaged in promoting
diversity, and prepared to use their unique strengths to
experiment and innovate in the name of student success.
The Staff Assistant reports to the Vice President,
Administration and Finance and is responsible for the
day-to-day administrative and organizational oversight
of operations of the office, including managing the Vice
President s calendar, reviewing and prioritizing
incoming documents and requests, and handling logistics
related to meetings. Also responsible for drafting and
editing correspondence; creating presentations;
preparing and organizing briefing materials; and
independently researching and providing follow-up
information on a variety of subjects. The Staff
Assistant is the key liaison between the Vice President
and internal and external audiences.
Essential Job Functions
Effectively organizes and prioritizes an influx of
incoming material, including emails, phone calls, and
correspondence for review and approval.
Prepares original correspondence and presentation
material, based on input from the Vice President and
incoming memos and email.
Organizes and prepares materials for meetings and
conferences, including maintaining relevant
documentation and other material.
Ensure inquiries and questions are addressed and
resolved
Coordinates meeting preparation, including scheduling
participants, booking conference rooms, and audio/video
equipment.
Assists the Vice President of Administration on a
variety of short and long term projects, including
independent research on issues and topics.
Maintain appropriate and complete filing systems to meet
the changing needs of the office; and perform related
responsibilities as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in conjunction with 3+ years working
in an office environment with a demonstrated progression
of increasing responsibility.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well
both independently with little or no supervision as well
as part of a team; personal initiative
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint
Ability to multitask in a professional, courteous manner
with a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
Ability to organize and maintain materials for records,
reports and projects.
Excellent judgment and discretion in handling
confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a business management
environment, including one or more of the following
functions: budgeting, accounting, records management,
contract administration or program management.

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Vice
President, Administration and Finance and provides
financial and analytic research, analysis and reporting
which will inform and support high-level decision
making. The Senior Financial Analyst will be
participating in and occasionally leading special
project initiatives and work groups in several areas,
including initiatives in financial reporting and
long-term resource planning.
Essential Job Functions
1. Develops and implements policies, procedures and
systems to monitor operating and capital budgets.
Conducts periodic assessments and reports on financial
performance and outcomes and communicates financial
information accurately and clearly to department and
division management and budget liaisons.
2. Creates and produces accurate and on-time reports and
other material for Board of Trustees and college senior
management; develops and produces integrated revenue and
expense analyses projections, reports and presentations.
3. Produces original analysis and reporting using
extensive accounting and financial data available
internally on SCT-Banner, the Higher Education
Information and Research System (HEIRS), and external
sources.
4. Provides research and cost analysis of new programs,
initiatives and special projects.
5. Provides analytic support and expertise to all areas
of Administration and Finance which includes: Accounting
and Finance, Facilities Management, and Bursar s Office.
Identify and assess best practices among other public
colleges and higher education institutions.
6. Works collaboratively with Accounting & Finance
and Information Technology, develops strategies and end
user training material to maximize the use of internal
financial management systems.
7. Works collaboratively with Communications to identify
and recommend enhancements to the Administration &
Finance website content.
8. Works collaboratively with college and program
managers to provide accurate and on-time data and
information in response to inquiries by the Department
of Higher Education and other entities.
9. Participates and occasionally leads special project
studies and work groups efforts; may serve on college
and system committees, as assigned.
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or
other related field required. Must have three (3) years
related experience, with relevant experience in
financial and management reporting; demonstrated ability
to work independently with minimal supervision,
prioritize work, and meet reporting deadlines. Must be
able to: Read, analyze and interpret financial data;
Respond effectively to questions and prepare material in
response to inquiries; Make concise and effective
presentations on controversial or complex topics to
college management; Exercise judgment, discretion as
well as handle confidential information.
Must have previous experience using production
accounting and reporting application(s) and production
databases and possess excellent end user computer
skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint). Must be well-organized, flexible and
able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
MBA or Master s degree in related field. Previous
experience with a higher education institution.
