This is a full- time, 12 month tenure track faculty
appointment with management and supervisory
responsibilities as the Department Chair of Education.
Work is expected to be done between the official hours
of 8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m. However, because of the nature of
the position and functions that must be completed, some
evening and weekend hours will be necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
Teach one course per semester.
Advise students.
Serve on Division and College wide committees.
Collaborate with area colleges to articulate programs.
Supervise several grants and grant personnel.
Supervise all evaluation activities conducted by the
Department.
Supervise all personnel academic related activities in
the Department.
Develop and monitor departmental budgets including
grants.
Develop and monitor departmental goals and plans.
Develop class schedules each semester.
Facilitate curriculum development.
Facilitate the hiring of full-time and adjunct faculty.
Make teaching assignments each term.
Supervise curriculum implementation.
Evaluate full-time and adjunct faculty and staff.
Evaluate programs.
Network with community agencies by serving on various
committees/boards and conducting professional
development activities.
Supervise order of textbooks each term.
Supervise changes to curriculum and the catalog each
year.
Supervise the development of Institutional Effectiveness
departmental plans.
Resolve student, faculty, and staff problems to the
extent possible.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master s degree (MS, MA, or MAT) in an area of Education
(Elementary, Early Childhood Education, Physical
Education, Special Education) or Higher Education
Administration.
Five (5) years full-time teaching experiences.
Three (3) years experience in higher education
administration.
