MARIA DE LOURDES DIECK-ASSAD has been appointed vice president for hemispheric and global affairs at the University of Miami. She was previously dean emeritus and distinguished professor of economics at the Graduate School of Business Administration at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM). Dieck-Assad earned a bachelor’s degree from ITESM, a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
