Asurvey conducted by U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine highlighted the companies and government agencies that best support engineering programs at historically Black colleges and universities. Specifically, the survey gauged the support for infrastructure modernization and enhancement, faculty development opportunities, scholarships, student projects, stipends and career opportunities that the supporters offer the engineering programs.

 The following companies made the cut for 2008: Boeing, Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman, Caterpillar, Raytheon Corp. and Siemens led the corporate list, and the U.S. Department of Energy, NASA, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Department of Defense led in government agencies. U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology will honor these corporate and government partners in the magazine’s June edition. HBCU engineering departments and Advancing Minorities’ Interest in Engineering, a corporateacademic alliance, participated in the survey.
