TADA! and the PhD Project Unite to Help Students Complete Doctoral Degrees
By Ronald Roach

PHOENIX
A Phoenix-based software development company has announced a collaboration with the acclaimed PhD Project that will provide instructional software to minority students with the aim of helping them complete master's theses and dissertations. The software, TADA! or Thesis and Dissertation Accomplished, is an interactive thesis and dissertation learning software package.

The PhD Project — TADA! collaboration is targeted to help doctoral students in the program stay committed and accomplish their goals. Launched in the 1990s to bring diversity to business school faculties, the PhD Project is considered one of the most successful minority doctoral recruitment and assistance programs.

"We are honored to join the nationwide effort to diversify the academic faculty," says Dr. Wendy Carter, the co-founder of ABD Solution Co., the maker of TADA! "Helping students complete their thesis or dissertation is TADA!'s main priority. This software will benefit doctoral students worldwide and will be a powerful resource for graduate students writing a thesis or dissertation."

The PhD Project is providing TADA! software to all minority business doctoral students associated with The PhD Project, including those who will begin their programs this September.

"TADA! Thesis and Dissertation Accomplished interactive CD helps doctoral students in all stages of their careers — in particular the more advanced students who might be facing issues of procrastination, isolation and time management," says Bernie Milano, president of the KPMG Foundation which administers The PhD Project.

Research on graduate attrition shows that only 50 percent of Ph.D. students complete their degree. TADA! is a CD-ROM resource tool that surpasses the traditional dissertation writing strategies by using a comprehensive interactive technology to introduce a new learning paradigm and methodology to increase the student's competitive advantage, according to ABD Solution officials.
