Brookdale Community College Student Innovation Network to Assist Students at Florida SouthWestern State College After Hurricane Ian

The Innovation Network (TIN) at Brookdale Community College has reached out to help the victims of Hurricane Ian by helping fellow students at Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) after the Florida school was damaged and shut down by the hurricane a month ago.Brookdale Community College

This is being done on the 10th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy. TIN members are partnering with the FSW Foundation to assist student hurricane victims. The foundation is accepting donations.

"Living through Sandy 10 years ago opened my eyes to how devastating these storms can be. But I also saw what happens when a community comes together to rebuild and help each other. I knew exactly what these residents of southwest Florida were experiencing after Hurricane Ian, and so when TIN decided to reach out to help the students and families of Florida SouthWestern College, I knew I wanted to be a part of that," said Isabel Shaw, journalism major and VP of TIN.

Those interested in participating can also buy supplies to help out at FSW Disaster Supplies on Amazon.
