Dr. Shirley I. Metcalf

Metcalf Opt 1Title: Central Oregon Community College

Metcalf was named the fifth president of Central Oregon Community College in 2014. She has been at the institution since 2011, first working as dean of extended learning where she monitored the college’s non-credit instruction at the Redmond, Madras and Prineville campuses. Before joining COCC, Metcalf was executive vice president for instruction and vice president for advancement at Lake Washington Technical College. She was also dean of instruction and dean of outreach at Hawaii Community College. Metcalf attained the rank of full professor in business and held a tenured position in the University of Hawaii System for 26 year and was named one of the University of Hawaii Community College’s “50 Finest” in 2014 for her contributions to community college education throughout the state. She also currently serves as a board member for Better Together and the National Asian Pacific Islander Council, an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges.
