Cathy O Neil Lois ElfmanA mathematician and data scientist, Dr. Cathy O’Neil is founder and CEO of O’Neil Risk Consulting & Algorithmic Auditing (ORCAA), a consultancy that helps companies and organizations manage and audit algorithmic risks. O’Neil is the author of Weapons of Math Destruction: How Big Data Increases Inequality and Threatens Democracy, a book about the societal impact of algorithms. ORCAA uses an inclusive approach, aiming to incorporate and address concerns from all stakeholders in an algorithm, not only those who built or deployed it. ORCAA clients include private and public companies of all sizes as well as public agencies in the U.S. and internationally.
