Dr. Radenka Maric, University of Connecticut

Maric 220201a044 Lois ElfmanA professor of engineering and academic administration, Dr. Radenka Maric is the 17th President of the University of Connecticut, only the second woman to serve in this position. An acclaimed innovator in clean energy technology, she previously served as interim president and vice president for research, innovation and entrepreneurship. During her time as vice president, new research awards to UConn and UConn Health grew from $184 million in fiscal year 2017 to $376 million in fiscal year 2020. Maric developed new programs to promote interdisciplinary, multi-campus, multi-stakeholder collaborations. She holds multiple patents and has published hundreds of scholarly works.
