Doctor Devotes Life to Battling Health Inequities

Dr. Thaddeus John Bell has dedicated his life to helping others live longer and healthier lives. “My passion over the past 25 years has been dealing with health disparities,” says Dr. Bell. “It was something I was brought up with, engrained in me to give back.”

For more than forty years, the Columbia native, SCSU and MUSC graduate has worked to save lives. He spent ten years in the military as a flight surgeon. The family medicine physician founded Closing The Gap In Health Care fourteen years ago, a non profit organization that provides health and literacy information through media outlets, churches, and seminars.
