BIDDEFORD, Maine —The federal Health Resources and Services Administration is giving nearly $900,000 to University of New England to help the school grow the state’s health care workforce.
The Biddeford university is getting three grants, the largest of which is for primary care training and enhancement.
The other grants are for nurse education and a nurse anesthetist traineeship.
The grants are part of $149 million given out throughout the country through a dozen workforce programs. The administration says it uses the grants to help prepare primary care providers to serve around the U.S.
