I had the opportunity to read a recent Dec. 14 guest opinion written by Craig T. Edwards and feel compelled to respond. I emphatically believe that legislative solutions involving the safety of our children must be the byproduct of a thoughtful, informed and bipartisan discourse, and I am here to offer an antithetical perspective to the solution of arming teachers that has been proposed.
