Razor-Maker Gillette to Partner With N.C. A&T To Provide Career Opportunities for StudentsGREENSBORO, N.C.
Razor and battery manufacturer Gillette will give $1 million to North Carolina A&T State University over the next three years in a partnership that will provide career opportunities for minority students. The program, announced last month, will create a Gillette Product Center on the campus of the historically Black university where students will have a chance to work on product development and testing. Other program features include scholarships for students majoring in engineering, accounting and finance, internships at Boston-based Gillette, and faculty fellowships and exchanges.“This partnership is good for the university, good for its students and good for Gillette,” says Royall Mack Sr., the company’s corporate vice president of civic affairs. “This partnership will provide us with top-notch, highly skilled minority graduates.”A&T chancellor James Renick said the arrangement “is definitely a win-win situation.”
