Wayne State Offers Games Web Site to Entertain Prospective Students

By Ronald Roach

DETROIT
Targeting junior- and high-school students, Wayne State University’s newly launched <http://games.wayne.edu/> Web site, with a series of six retro arcade games, is thought to be the first of its kind for a university. The site is designed to entertain prospective students and provide information about Wayne State.

Games.wayne.edu features six original animated characters with WSU-related names: Anthony, Cassie, McKenzie, Prentis, Wayne and Warrior. The characters bounce in and around action games such as Pac-Man and Pong, as well as word and jigsaw puzzles. All of the games have sounds and most have varying levels of difficulty. In addition to playing the games, site visitors can enter a daily drawing for a free games.wayne.edu

T-shirt featuring game characters.

School officials say they have also revamped the Wayne State admissions site, which includes the traditional information applicants need to know about the university, the admissions process, financial aid and how to apply online. The admissions site address is https://admissions.wayne.edu/
