FSU nursing program on warning status after rules violations

FAYETTEVILLE N.C.

State officials have placed Fayetteville State University’s nursing program on warning status because of multiple violations of state rules.

The state Board of Nursing’s plan of correction includes an annual audit to ensure nursing students are in compliance with admission policies. The school must also submit documentation before each semester on teaching assignments for all faculty.

The board will review the school’s compliance with state rules in each of the next three years. It could close the program if rules are not followed.

The warning status comes after a board committee found a number of problems, including inconsistencies in course descriptions and unqualified students admitted into the program.
