As college students return to campuses this week, they’re concerned about paying for college.  At the University of Hawaii, state appropriations and tuition income per student grew 32.1 percent.  According to the Star Bulletin, the annual State Higher Education Finance report shows this is the highest percentage increase in the nation. Thereport also notes that state support for UH grew 27.9 percent over the last five years, making Hawaii second only to Alabama, which saw 37 percent growth in state funding.
