A Record 3.9 Million-plus Students Take Online College Courses

More students are taking online classes, and one Web site has added more features to accommodate online college students. OVERVIEW.com, one of the first databases of colleges and career information on the Internet, has added more colleges, features, and information to their Web site. The new additions include career videos, government-based career advice and salary information, plus hundreds of links to both campus-based and online schools and colleges, PRNewswire reported. The Babson Survey Research Group, in Online Education in the United States, 2008, states that over 3.9 million students took at least one online course during the fall of 2007 (their most recent survey), and their numbers are growing. Virtually all public higher-education institutions, as well as a vast majority of private institutions, now offer online classes.
