Zipcar Launches Car Sharing Program at UA

The University of Alabama is offering students who normally bring their cars to campus an economical and environmentally friendly alternative for transportation. Zipcar, the world’s largest car sharing service, and the University of Alabama department of transportation services is announcing the launch of Zipcar’s car-sharing program on the UA campus today. According to school officials, this is the first car sharing program in Alabama, and the service will help the university reduce demand for parking and associated congestion.
