University of Miami gets $20 million gift to fight autism

The John P. Hussman Foundation donated a $20 million gift to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to fight autism on Thursday. According to The Miami Herald, geneticists at the University medical school say the $1 million dollar philanthropic gift will bring them a step closer to cracking the genetic code of autism and other complex disorders.  Hussman, whose son was diagnosed with autism in 1997, said his personal connection to the disorder was a major factor in his decision.
