West Virginia Colleges Get Over $4M in Federal Grants

West Virginia, Marshall and West Virginia State universities will share more than $4.4 million in National Science Foundation grants to promote computer technology and biometrics research.  According to the Charleston Daily Mail, Sen. Jay Rockefeller and Gov. Joe Manchin made the announcement Tuesday morning. The first grant is worth $2.6 million over the three years, and the second grant is worth $1.8 million.  The grants are being awarded through a project of the state Higher Education Policy Commission.
