Stocks are flat in midday trading one day after the Dow Jones industrial average closed at its highest level in two and a half years.
Time Warner gained 7 percent after the company said its profit jumped 22 percent last quarter and raised its profit forecasts for the rest of 2011. Video game publisher Electronic Arts jumped 14 percent after it too raised its forecast for the year.
ADP said that private companies added more jobs than analysts were expecting in January.
The Dow Jones industrial average is up less than a point at 12,041 in midday trading. The broader S&P 500 is down 2 points, or 0.1 percent, to 1,305. The Nasdaq composite is up 4, or 0.1 percent, to 2,755.
