Darryll J PinesDARRYLL J. PINES has been appointed president of the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), eff ective July 1. He currently serves as dean of UMD’s A. James Clark School of Engineering. Pines holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley as well as master’s and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
