DENISE MURCHISON PAYTON has been named president of the Intercollegiate Music Association. Director of choral ac-tivities at Fayetteville State University and minister of music at the Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church, Payton holds a bachelor’s in vocal performance from North Carolina A&T State University, a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Fayetteville State Uni-versity, a Ph.D. in music arts from Boston University and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Walden University.
