Elon University has named one of its former faculty members and administrative leaders as its ninth president and as its first woman to lead the university.
Constance “Connie” Ledoux Book, currently provost of The Citadel, will take the helm on March 1, succeeding President Leo Lambert, who has served in that capacity since 1999 and announced in February his intention to step down, sparking a national search for a new leader.
