U.K. Partners With Military to Study Optimal Fitness

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky has been awarded a contract from the Defense Department to study physical and mental fitness.

WKYT-TV reports UK President Eli Capilouto announced the $4 million partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Office of Naval Research. He said the research would focus on determining optimal fitness among elite military forces.

The study will be performed by UK’s Sports Medicine Research Institute.
