Give Private Schools “Free Tuition” Too

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposal to provide free tuition for students at New York’s public colleges and universities should be expanded to include private institutions, Wells College President Jonathan Gibralter said Monday.

Gibralter wrote an open letter to Cuomo that was published on Wells College’s Facebook page. He praised the governor’s push to establish a tuition-free program in New York — he called it “an incredibly good idea” — but suggested that it should apply to private colleges, too.
