$1 Million in Grants Will Give Veterans Commercial Driver Training

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has awarded nearly $1 million toward programs aimed at helping train military veterans to be commercial drivers, the agency announced in a press release on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Specifically, the money has been awarded to seven technical and community colleges across the United States to help train veterans and their families for jobs as commercial truck and bus drivers. The funding is provided through FMCSA’s Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training grant program.
