Colorado University Hires Adviser for Student Veterans

It wasn’t easy for Nathan Lower to transition from the Navy to civilian life at the University of Colorado two years ago.

Not only was he experiencing college life for the first time in his mid-20s, but he was also dealing with the complex rules of the GI Bill, which pays for his tuition and fees.

Enter Kristina Spaeth, an academic adviser on the Boulder campus who now works exclusively with student veterans to help them navigate the complex world of higher education and government tuition benefits.
