CEO Meets with Trump But Rejects VA Post

The transition team of President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday interviewed retired Henry Ford Health System CEO Nancy Schlichting in New York City for secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to the health system.

“Nancy will not be taking the position,” Henry Ford Health spokeswoman Brenda Craig said in a Friday email.

The position of VA secretary is one of the last spots for Trump to fill in his cabinet, along with the secretary of Agriculture Department post.
