Acting on behalf of the Henry County Veteran’s Assistance Commission, Dorothy Meindok has completed and submitted an application for a grant under the ServiceIllinois department of the Illinois Department of Veteran’s Affairs. That agency will screen the applications and announce what applications have been accepted in January, 2018.
If that hurdle is cleared, the ServiceIllinois people will work with the community sponsor to further refine the application. In Henry County’s situation, that agency would be the Henry County United Way. They would handle the distribution of funds if the application is ultimately approved. The application then would be sent to the Corporation for National and Community Service.
