RADFORD — Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va, spoke from the podium on Moffett Lawn to nearly 1,900 Radford University graduates and their family and friends at the school’s commencement ceremony Saturday.
“The youngest graduate is 19 and the oldest graduate receiving a degree today is 62 years old,” Kaine said. “A round of applause for that person.”
That graduate was Robert Pringle, a retired Marine who said he’s been mad at Kaine for close to 10 years. In 2009, then-governor Kaine closed the correctional center in Natural Bridge where Pringle worked and planned to retire.
