Ex-Professor: Military Service Deemed Incompatible With UNH Campus Culture

CONCORD — A former University of New Hampshire professor whose contract was not renewed last year claims he has been denied employment at the university because of his prior military service, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court.

In January 2018, the contracts of 18 lecturers in the UNH College of Liberal Arts were not renewed, including that of English lecturer Nathan Webster, of Stratham, a veteran who served during Operation Desert Storm and then worked as a photojournalist in Iraq, who filed the lawsuit on Sept. 30.
