Australian Catholic University will create an app to guide military veterans through their transition into higher education, CathNews reported.

The Five2Study app – the first of its type in Australia – will seek to aid those looking to reduce complexities and stress of higher ed and adjusting into campus life, through interactive resources, health support, and connection to ACU’s Student Veteran Services community.
The app was one of the projects funded through more than $5.5 million from the Department of Veterans Affairs to help support veterans, defense personnel, and their families. It received $150,000.
“There are many challenges associated with that journey, but the aim is to utilize their strengths such as leadership, work ethic, resilience and teamwork to orientate veterans via the app towards student life,” said Dr. Zlatko Skrbis, ACU vice chancellor and president.
More than 250 veterans are enrolled across ACU’s eight campuses.
