Vermont to Provide In-state College Tuition to Veterans

MONTPELIER, Vt. ― Vermont is providing in-state tuition to its public colleges and university to military veterans from around the country.

A similar program is being offered in other states, but Jeb Spaulding, chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges, says he hopes some out-of-state veterans will take advantage of the opportunity to get a college education in Vermont.

The new policy aligns Vermont with the federal Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014, which included a provision mandating that all public institutions of higher education provide the in-state tuition benefit to veterans.

It took effect July 1.
