Rollins College Suspends Frats Over ‘High Risk’ Behavior Concerns

WINTER PARK, Fla. — A central Florida college has suspended all fraternities on campus over concerns of “high risk behaviors.”

All staff and students at Rollins College received an email Tuesday night from Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Meghan Harte Weyant to notify them of the suspension.

The email said the temporary suspension affects all six fraternities. She said the measure was taken after reviewing a “series of student conduct concerns.” It didn’t list specific incidents.

The suspension doesn’t affect sororities.

Weyant said in the email that the suspension was issued “until further notice” with support of the chapters. Fraternities won’t be able to conduct meetings and all Greek Week activities scheduled for March have been canceled.

She says the decision was made for the “safety and well-being” of students and the community.
