Dr. James L. Moore III to Receive APLU Distinguished Service Award

Dr. James L. Moore III, vice provost for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer at The Ohio State University (OSU), was named the recipient of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities’ (APLU) 2019 Commission on Access, Diversity and Excellence Distinguished Service Award.

Moore also serves as the  EHE Distinguished Professor of Urban Education in the College of Education and Human Ecology and inaugural executive director of the Todd Anthony Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male.

Throughout his career, Moore has managed college access programs, scholarships and worked to provide institutional resources to increase opportunities within higher education. Additionally, his research has focused on the effect of school counselors on the educational experiences of students of color as well as recruitment and retention of students of color. https://diverseeducation.com/?p=158122&preview=true

Moore will be honored during the 2019 APLU Annual Meeting Nov. 11 in San Diego, California.
