Education Management Corp. Lays Off 3 Percent of Workforce
PITTSBURGH ― Pittsburgh-based Education Management Corp. has laid off hundreds of employees at Art Institute campuses across the country, including 41 in the city. The 3 percent reduction in the corporation’s workforce comes as the for-profit college operator adjusts to declining enrollment. JAYATI GHOSH
JAYATI GHOSH has been appointed dean of the School of Business Administration and a professor of international business at Widener University. She was associate dean of the Barowsky School of Business at Dominican University of California. Ghosh earned a bachelor’s and a master’s from the University of Calcutta in India, a master’s from Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, and a doctorate from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

RAJ ACHARYA has been appointed dean of the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University Bloomington, effective July 1. He is director of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science atPennsylvania State University. Acharya earned a bachelor’s from Bangalore University in India, a master’s from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate from the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and the University of Minnesota.

BONITA STANTON has been named founding dean of the Seton Hall University and Hackensack University Health Network (HackensackUHN) medical school. She was vice dean for research at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Stanton earned a bachelor’s from Wellesley College and an M.D. from Yale University.
