Honda has partnered with online fundraising platform Omaze and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) to offer the potential prize of the very first 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition for the U.S.
The winner will also receive a driving experience on the track with Honda IndyCar driver, Colton Herta.
Donations will support TMCF, which is raising funds to support its COVID-19 Emergency Fund for students “in areas such as technology, mental health, housing, and food insecurity,” the release wrote.
Fans can enter for a chance to win until Feb. 18, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
“Historically Black Colleges and Universities have been greatly impacted by COVID-19, and many of our students don’t have a safety net,” TMCF President and CEO Dr. Harry L. Williams said. “This initiative to give away a Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition will help us continue to provide much-needed assistance to our students and schools.”
The new Limited Edition Honda Civic Type R model sports “Phoenix Yellow” paint and incorporates performance changes.
Honda partners on a yearly basis with TMCF to provide scholarship funding to HBCU students in engineering, supply chain management and manufacturing-related fields.
