Pandemic Spurs Colleges To ‘Meet Students Where They’re at,’ Provide Flexible Options

When the coronavirus pandemic shuttered Central Ohio Technical College’s Newark campus in March, administrators found themselves needing to rethink everything.

Provost of Academic and Student Affairs Eric Heiser said he and other COTC administrators were in a similar position to many Ohio colleges at the start of the pandemic. They found themselves asking how they could still safely provide students with an education without creating unnecessary stress in an ever-changing world.
