N.C. State a Partner in E-Commerce Venture
RALEIGH, N.C. — Twelve companies have formed a partnership with North Carolina State University that will invest more than $500,000 annually in e-commerce education and research projects at the university, the partners announced last month.
The E-Commerce@NCState initiative will allow N.C. State faculty and students to learn more about e-commerce practices in the business world.
Partner companies will send speakers to N.C. State classrooms, suggest business problems for faculty researchers and student teams to tackle and share their knowledge about e-commerce.
“N.C. State’s leadership in e-commerce education will be greatly enhanced by our ability to work closely with companies that are ahead of the curve in creating the digital enterprise,” says Michael Rappa, co-director of the consortium.
The corporate partners are ABB, Agilent Technologies, AT&T, Cisco Systems, Deloitte Consulting, Deloitte and Touche, Eastman Kodak, Gartner, Glaxo
Wellcome, HAHT Software, IBM and Wachovia.
