California State University-Northridge received $742,515 from the U.S. Department of Education to train bilingual teachers in the Los Angeles area.

City College of San Francisco received $50,000 from Genentech Inc., for the college’s Bio-Link program. The gift will establish a national equipment registry for biotechnology education.
DePaul University’s Space Science Center for Outreach and Education received a $1.625 million, five-year grant from NASA’s Office of Space Science to continue its work of linking scientists with educators and students throughout the Midwest.

Florida A&M University has received a two-year, $250,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to establish online news service publications at historically Black colleges and universities.

St. Philip’s College Southwest Campus (Texas) received $1,021,042 from a Texas Workforce Commission Skills Development Fund Grant to fund training at the community college for as many as 1,510 aerospace industry positions spread across five major local employers.

Yale University’s Women’s Health Research received $100,000 from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.
