Professional Appointments

Ghangis D. Carter is the new director of recruitment and retention at Indiana University’s School of Education, Bloomington campus. Previously, he held the same directorship in the College of Education at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Carter earned a bachelor’s from San Diego State University and a master’s from Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Pamela Christian has been appointed special assistant for university diversity at Azusa Pacific University in California. Previously, she was director of the McNair Scholars Program at California State University, San Bernardino. Christian earned a bachelor’s from Seton Hall University, a master’s from California State University, San Bernardino and a doctorate from Claremont Graduate University.
Dr. William Gregory Sawyer has been named vice president for student affairs at California State University-Channel Islands. He earned a bachelor’s from Mount Union College, a master’s from Eastern New Mexico University and a doctorate from the University of North Texas.
Dr. Gary Sayed has been named the new dean of the College of Allied Health at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles. Sayed earned a bachelor’s from the University of the Incarnate Word in Texas, a master’s from the University of Iowa, and a doctorate from the Medical College of Ohio.
Kim A. Williams has been named the director of institutional advancement at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus. Previously, Williams was a director and staff attorney at The Miracle Makers Inc., a children and family services agency. She earned a bachelor’s from John Jay College and a law degree from Rutgers University School of Law.
