Ohio University professor pleads not guilty to drug charges

PARKERSBURG W.Va.

An Ohio University engineer professor has pleaded not guilty to drug charges.

Carles Parks, 63, of Athens, Ohio, faces three counts of delivering cocaine. He was arrested in Parkersburg last October. State Police said at the time he was carrying cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Wood County Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey Reed scheduled Parks’ trial for Dec 11. If he’s convicted, Parks faces up to one to five years in prison and a $25,000 fine on each count.
