WASHINGTON ― The College Board says test booklets for hundreds of thousands of students who took SAT exams last Saturday contained an error but that it won’t affect test scores.
The organization’s website says the error appeared in test books for a specific math or reading section. It incorrectly stated that 25 minutes were allotted for the section. The board says the manual provided to supervisors overseeing the nationwide exam had the correct 20-minute limit.
About 487,000 students who took the SAT college entrance exam that day were affected.
The board says sections with the incorrect time limit will not be scored, but that it will still be able “to provide reliable scores for all students” taking the test that day.
