RUTH V. WATKINS has been appointed 16th president of the University of Utah. Watkins has served as the senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of Utah since 2013. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas.
