Gita GopinathGITA GOPINATH has been named chief economist of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She currently is the John Zwaanstra Professor of International Studies and Economics at Harvard University. Gopinath earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi, two master’s degrees from the Delhi School of Economics and University of Washington and a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
