KATHERINE CLAY BASSARD has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Rhodes College. She is currently serving as interim senior associate dean for faculty affairs in the College of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University. Bassard holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University, a master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
