MAURIE MCINNIS has been appointed president of the State University of New York system’s Stony Brook University on Long Island in New York. Currently a cultural historian and executive vice president and provost at the University of Texas at Austin, McInnis holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Virginia as well as a master’s and Ph.D. in art history from Yale University.
