NERGIS MAVALVALA

NERGIS MAVALVALA has been named the new dean of the School of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is the first woman to hold the position. The Curtis and Kathleen Marble Professor of Astrophysics at MIT, Mavalvala holds a bachelor’s in physics and astronomy from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. in physics from MIT.
